Chamber Celebrates Carthage at Banquet
The Carthage Chamber of Commerce held their 2019 Annual Banquet with a Casino Royale theme, honoring outstanding community members. Susan Wendleton received the Citizen of the Year award, with other recognitions including Emerging Leader of the Year, Small Business of the Year, and the Spotlight Award. Over 400 attendees celebrated local achievements.


Chamber Celebrates Carthage at Banquet
The Carthage Chamber of Commerce celebrated the past year with a Casino Royale theme at their 2019 Annual Banquet Friday, Jan. 18, at the Congregation of the Mother of the Redeemer reception hall.
Over 400 Chamber members and community leaders gathered to recognize outstanding teachers, business leaders, volunteers and community members.
A number of people were honored with awards. The highlight of the night was the presentation of the annual Richard M. Webster Citizen of the Year award to Susan Wendleton, a recent retiree from the Carthage Water & Electric Plant who has shown dedication and devotion to Carthage through service on a number of boards and committees, and her hours of volunteer service throughout the community.
Other awards included Emerging Leader of the Year, awarded to Jenny Brust with H.E. Williams; Small Business of the Year awarded to Halo Salon; and Spotlight Award presented to Schmidt Associates, and others.
