Jeremiah and Jennifer Anderson opened Rooted Action Park in Joplin, Missouri, combining decades of experience and faith to create a unique indoor facility for BMX, skateboards, scooters, and more. Featuring the region’s only indoor pump track and airbags for safe trick practice, the park caters to all skill levels while fostering community, family connections, and faith-based hospitality. Rooted is the culmination of Jeremiah’s lifelong dream to provide a space for action sports enthusiasts to grow, connect, and feel cared for.

After being diagnosed with Lupus, Sean Roye turned to running as a way to reclaim his health and faith, logging over 10,000 miles and completing marathons, ultramarathons, and a 100-mile race. For Roye, running is both a physical challenge and spiritual journey, helping him manage his condition, improve mental health, and connect with God through perseverance and determination.

Neosho’s Charles Nodler, now 75, has been a dedicated runner since the late 1970s, participating in local 5K races for decades and maintaining a routine of running six days a week. Valuing the health benefits, personal discipline, and community spirit of the sport, Nodler continues to find joy and purpose in running, proving that age is no barrier to an active lifestyle.

Neosho High School senior Cade Spiva, the Wildcats’ starting quarterback, is recognized for his dual-threat abilities, strong leadership, and dedication both on and off the field. Praised by Coach Brandon Taute for his work ethic, football IQ, and positive influence, Spiva credits his success to team trust and a family-like atmosphere, striving to elevate everyone around him as he leads the offense.

Peterson Outdoors Ministries’ Heroes Hunting for Hope Fall Veterans Deer Hunt provides adaptive outdoor experiences for injured veterans, first responders, and those with disabilities, offering not just hunting but also faith-based support, camaraderie, and healing. Through specialized equipment, personal attention, and ongoing community, the event helps participants overcome challenges, build lasting bonds, and find renewed hope and strength.

Carthage senior Maggie Boyd is a standout in cross country and track, known for her mental toughness, leadership, and dedication to training. Praised by Coach Brian Crigger for her work ethic and ability to inspire teammates, Maggie credits her competitive spirit and perseverance for her success in distance events, and looks forward to new challenges beyond high school.

At 92, Carthage’s Dave McCoy continues to compete—and win—in running and field events, holding multiple state records and inspiring others with his energy, positivity, and love for the camaraderie of sports. A Missouri Sports Hall of Fame inductee and 2022 Senior Male Athlete of the Year, McCoy credits his longevity and happiness to staying active, building relationships, and always embracing new challenges.

Carthage senior Lexa Youngblood is a standout softball player known for her speed, versatility, and leadership as the Lady Tigers’ centerfielder. Praised by Coach Stephanie Ray for her defensive range, offensive power, and positive attitude, Lexa is also a three-sport athlete and top student, setting a high standard both on and off the field.
