The George Washington Carver National Monument celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2018 with a year-long series of events honoring the life and legacy of Carver—scientist, educator, artist, and humanitarian. Located near Diamond, Missouri, the monument was the first in the U.S. dedicated to a Black American, preserving the 240-acre site of Carver’s birthplace and childhood home. From Prairie Day to Storytelling Festivals, the park offers rich educational programs, historical interpretation, and hands-on experiences for visitors of all ages. Park Ranger Curtis Gregory says it best: “Carver’s story is amazing… and he didn’t stop until he succeeded.”

For the past decade, TAMKO Building Products has proudly supported the Veterans Airlift Command by donating planes, fuel, and pilots to transport wounded veterans and their families across the country. Each Hero Flight is a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by service members—and TAMKO’s ongoing commitment to giving back to America’s heroes.

College sweethearts Kayla and Derek Daniels turned their shared love of basketball into a lifelong partnership, culminating in a heartfelt surprise proposal on the court and a vintage-inspired wedding at the Gambrel Barn. Their story is a joyful celebration of friendship, love, and dreams coming true.

The 16th Annual Cutest Baby Photo Contest brought smiles and support for the Children’s Miracle Network, celebrating the adorable personalities of local babies while raising funds for children in medical need. From shark mohawks to stuffed sloths and stroller rides, each little contestant charmed the judges—and our hearts.
