The Children’s Center of Southwest Missouri helps investigate and prevent child abuse, serving over 19,000 children since 1997. Each April, they raise awareness during Child Abuse Prevention Month, symbolized by blue pinwheel gardens, to remind the community to support families and protect children. The 12th annual Cutest Pet Contest featured beloved pets from the Four States, with all entry fees supporting local animal organizations. The contest celebrated the joy these pets bring to their families and communities.

The 10th annual Nature Photo Contest, benefiting the Wildcat Glades Friends group, received 72 beautiful entries showcasing diverse scenes from landscapes to wildlife. Tyler Artym won first place with a touching photo of newborn fawns by Center Creek, Amy Watts took second with a striking killdeer photo, and Ashlyn Henderson earned third place and the Facebook Fan Favorite with a sunlit rabbit image. Eleven-year-old Havyn Thayer won the kids contest with a bee on a thistle photo, capturing nature’s charm through the eyes of young photographers.
