Seneca-based mixed-media artist Erin Poor creates sustainable art through her business Feral Folk Inc, drawing inspiration from folklore, mythology, and the woods while repurposing discarded objects into new artistic forms. The Missouri Southern State University BFA student recently visited Czech Republic and Austria for artistic inspiration and volunteers at the Seneca Food Pantry and Thrift Store.

Brandon Smith evolved from a successful college runner who was a 15-time All-Conference champion and All-American to an ultra-marathon athlete who now teaches fourth grade and coaches cross country at East Newton school district. Casey Williams of Pineville, Missouri, started cycling at age 52 after struggling through a 5K run and now rides over 3,000 miles annually on gravel roads throughout Mac County. The 55-year-old enjoys the physical and mental health benefits of cycling while exploring nature and spotting wildlife on the area's bluffs, creeks, and winding dirt roads.

Henri Coeme, president of the Joplin Roadrunners Board of Directors, began running at age 6 in Belgium when sent to buy cigarettes for his chain-smoking parents and has since set about 40 Missouri age records across various distances. The world traveler plans to compete in the Boston Marathon in the 70+ category while continuing to grow the Joplin Roadrunners organization and its charitable efforts.

Col. Dean Barrett of Grove, Oklahoma, celebrated his 103rd birthday on September 20, 2022, as a distinguished World War II Air Force veteran who served 30 years in active and reserve duties. The lifelong Oklahoma resident had an extensive career in agriculture through Oklahoma State University and made significant contributions to his community through various civic organizations.

Carthage runner Brady Beckam evolved from competitive racing starting at age 9 to practicing "hippie running" focused on enjoyment, adventure, and stress relief rather than times and competition. He now approaches running as part of his identity, taking a relaxed approach that includes stopping for beers during marathons and photographing scenery during ultra-distance events.

Carthage-born artist Beth Ytell Kang returned home in 2020 after 40 years in California, bringing her whimsical artwork characterized by bold colors, polka dots, and childlike wonder. She now volunteers with artCentral Carthage and creates art that transforms everyday objects into quirky characters, aiming to bring happiness and color to people's lives.

Self-taught photographer Michael J. Munster, owner of Green Heron Photography, gained national recognition when four of his Missouri landscape images were featured in The Atlantic in 2020. He specializes in capturing Missouri wildlife, historical sites, and natural wonders, including infrared photography techniques.
