Faith, Family and a Friendly Nurse The Keys to One Woman’s Fight Against Cancer
Debby Rieck discovered a chest nodule in July after recovering from COVID-19, leading to a diagnosis of stage 2B lobular invasive breast cancer that required lumpectomy, lymph node removal, and chemotherapy at Freeman Cornell-Beshore Cancer Institute. Her journey was supported by a devoted family including husband Eric of 47 years and daughter Amber, plus nurse Laura Walker who formed a special connection based on her own family's cancer experience. Debby successfully completed treatment and hopes to encourage others facing similar battles that "there is light at the end of the tunnel."
